Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME generic top-level domain name extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal web pages only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. At the beginning, just third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained operational.

You will be able to update the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you receive its EPP transfer authorization key from the current domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. There are no specific rules on who can grab a .NAME domain, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
